Amy Franks, MD · Paris
An American psychiatrist who has lived every part of this transition.
I am a U.S.-trained psychiatrist, board-certified in adult psychiatry and neurology. I earned my medical degree and completed my psychiatry residency at the University of Colorado, where I served as Chief Resident. During that time, I developed a deep interest in global mental health and led several research projects in the field.
Before medical school, I studied biology, chemistry, and French at the University of Denver and spent time at the Catholic University of Paris. That early experience with France created a lasting connection and eventually drew me back after I finished my medical training.
Once I arrived in Paris, I experienced firsthand how hard it is to rebuild a life from scratch in a new culture and system. I want to offer others the resource I wished I had — and help fellow professionals build a fulfilling life abroad.
